“Each day we are given a chance to choose happiness, and it starts with a decision. For me, it is to chase my dreams, to pursue my goal, to TRAVEL.”
Instagram and Blogs are my biggest influence. But before I started reading blogs, I was so envious while stalking travelers, explorers and wanderers in IG. I made myself believed that travel is only for those who are financially rich. I was quite bitter while staring those travel photos to be honest, because it took me awhile to know their stories. I was so busy playing online games, watching movies, shopping, dining out, etc. back then. So, reading stories of bloggers on how they made a dream to come true was the light bulb to me. I realized how I wasted, spending on stuffs that are not even essential, that it could have been the amazing memories of travels than junk things. I want to see the real, live picture, I want to capture amazing scenery and at the same time to be lost in time while standing on the ground where the wonders of the world are, and I want to experience different culture. I was so craving to travel but there was a lot of hesitations, the what ifs and buts, and behind all of those excuses was… I can’t manage to save.
Starting a quest…
It was difficult at first… I failed to plan and I failed to save. It was a “come what may” decision, because saving was really hard to start. I can’t stop myself from spending and this MALL SALE was a temptation that I hardly resisted. So the first trip, I was so tight of budget that I had to ask my friend to rescue me by borrowing some penny. It was bad, really, it took me six months before I manage to travel again.
But, those bloggers are right, once you have started to travel, it can only get better but of course I put too much effort of self-discipline, in my spending splurge. Plus I started reading. Months before a trip, I kept on researching for travel tips, the must do and see, cheap places and treats, etc. Then, those previous mess-ups and mistakes became a lesson which I avoided to happen again. So, I was then cautious and I make sure that each trips to follow are better through preparations.
Starting a blog…
I started blogging because writing about my trips and adventures inspires me more. When I started writing and seeing the progress, it sharpens my brain and gives me so much of enthusiasm to chase wanderlust. When I decided to purchase my own domain — my first intention was to have an additional income and to divert myself from devastation I got from work. The diversion, it worked well, but the additional income, I did not work on it. I thought I will just share my stories and that’s it, I will figure it out one day, one step at a time. What’s important is that… my quest is on.
Sometimes at work you have this brilliant idea, but you can’t just push it. So, what I am trying to say, with my own website I am inspired. Designing and writing, figuring out how to run this, how to make this an inspiration to others. I am inspired to do more because I want to be one of those dreamers testifying that it’s not too late to pursue what we really want. That all we need is a first step, then we just need to keep it going.
As I started creating drafts of what I intend to share, recalling all those memories, having flashbacks to those mysteries we unveiled while traveling, the lessons from the previous trips… I felt fulfilled already and this makes me happy. That is why all those who chase travel (I assume), believe that we should collect moments and not things. With those moments, we can always gain lessons and knowledge. We can only be wiser as we go on right?
I always say this to those who traveled with me, appreciate more than criticize. Travel with kind heart and open mind. It is so important to be grounded and contented for they are the key to happiness and the rest will fall in to places. This, does not only pertain to travel but to life in general. Travel makes me appreciate more what I have and even what I don’t have. And writing, makes me aspire to inspire.
Now, before ending this introduction, let me share my whereabouts, my goals, including the few of my strolls.
Here we go… Hello there fellow dreamers! I am Luracel or MsLure in the world of internet. A Filipino, currently based in the UAE. Working 9.5 hours a day, 5 times a week in the world of fun, leisure and adventures as an office fella, a part-time devoted traveler, and a freshman blogger. Once, I was struggling to start my quest, and when I finally did the first trip it was almost a disaster. Now, I may not be an expert yet but I am getting better on my travel plans, of course.
The Goals… As mentioned above, I want to inspire others while inspiring myself (through sharing my stories and learnings, encouraging dreamers who are still in a state of searching on what they really want or figuring out how to do the first step). It may be too ambitious, but I dream of roaming every spots and corners this earth can offer, that’s the spirit right? Let’s dream big and let’s make it happen. Above all, it is my goal to make each day as fruitful as possible, to be positive and motivated, even if it is not always a perfect day, even if hope seems to be a myth. It is my goal to be patient and to never give up. It is my goal that one day I can face myself on a mirror and say… Hey good job, you made it! You did it, I’m so proud of you. 😉
Some Strolls… I had been roaming around the Philippines since college days. Every chance to go to a new place, with a hope that I can always get my parents’ approval, I’d go. I did not really had the luxury to travel that much, because sometimes it’s a NO! “Strict ang Parents Ko”. Getting my parents approval most of the time comes with a lot of tears and drama. haha. I know, that’s me in pushing my luck before. So, I am no stranger to my own country, I went to some places of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and one day will continue to explore again, the 81 provinces, that’s a promise. The sad thing of my previous adventures was, most were uncaptured. I have no camera that time. I remember buying a disposable camera on some of my adventures. But, it’s okay though, I can still remember those moments.
022015 though it was not my first out of the country, but it was the official start of my wanderlust. It was this moment that I devotedly pursue the quest to see the world and here are some of my firsts escapades…
These are just the beginning, I will be sharing more… So, see you around dreamers and travelers. May you all have an amazing adventures.
